Who we're looking for
Toyota's Corporate Communications Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Social Media Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to leverage and grow Toyota's social media presence to help strengthen connections with existing Toyota customers while at the same time attracting new ones.

The Social Media Manager leads a team responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of strategic social media and digital initiatives which includes managing organic and owned content. By creating content that encourages engagement and discussion around the Toyota brand, the Social team aims to improve brand loyalty, perception and the customer experience. Another key role is identifying potential issues and, if necessary, formulating rapid responses from the company.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Communications, the person in this role will support the Corporate Communication department's objective to build trust and protect the company's reputation.
What you'll be doing
- Develop the most effective platform and content support strategy for various brand and product initiatives in addition to working jointly with the marketing team to amplify paid content initiatives, including product campaigns, through active community engagement.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to drive consumer engagement and ensure a consistency of voice across all platforms.
- As appropriate, lead "rapid response" team on critical customer experience issues to minimize negative impact on the brand.
- Work closely with direct reports - including a Content Analyst and Community Management Senior Analyst -- to track performance and develop new content. Manage outside vendors and agencies to support internal teams.
- Set and manage annual group budget plan in collaboration with team managers. Includes ongoing budget tracking and reporting to ensure consistency and accountability.
What you bring
- 10 or more years of experience in Social Media, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or a related field.
- Strong track record of working with cross-affiliate teams, ability to solve complex problems and build relationships that lead to more collaborative outcomes.
- An ace "trend-spotter" - utilizing analytics and strong instincts honed through active community engagement and campaign support. Strong familiarity with online marketing best practices.
- Proven experience with multiple social media platforms and the dynamics of community interaction.
- Experience developing strategies and plans based on consumer insights data and performance.
- Experience managing outside agencies.
- Resourceful self-starter with excellent judgement, ability to work independently on multiple projects, high level attention to detail, strong communication and presentation skills.
