The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description
As Manager, Claims Product, U.S. Casualty, this position is a key member of the U.S. Casualty Claims Leadership Team, and will be responsible for driving efficiency and effectiveness to deliver on key business targets. Aid Liberty Mutual in becoming a global employer of choice by leading and developing an organization of claims professionals. Lead product and operations teams to support the service to our customers in National Insurance, North American Specialty Casualty, and Helmsman Management Services.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate and inspire operations and product teams.
  • Collaborate with Major Accounts, Middle Market, Specialty and Helmsman Management Services Leadership to provide data analysis to develop and implement key process and service improvements across Casualty teams.
  • Identify and analyze loss trends, risk management opportunities, and Casualty specific issues to improve the claims handling experience and maximize business performance.
  • Optimize processes to facilitate Early Resolution, Customer Service, and Complex units to support region performance results.
  • Partner with Quality and Compliance to ensure accordance with federal, state, and local regulation and serve as state liaison for regulatory and reform issues.
  • Collaborate with claims teams to ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives and solutions across Casualty Claims.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise practices and procedures to improve Casualty performance in addition to develop, schedule, and deliver training for claims teams to increase field coordination and accountability.
  • Provide consultation to Claims management and the vendor contracting process regarding administrative needs, technical, or personnel issues.
  • Interface with key customers, agents and brokers to provide technical consultation and support an exceptional customer experience.
  • Partner to influence resolution strategy at large loss round tables with other Claims leaders and key partners.
  • Inform best practices and develop strategic partnerships surrounding highly critical items: Legal System Abuse and Litigation Management, Casualty Remediation, and Litigated Claims Ecosystem among top items. Accountable to move this work forward.
  • Partner on North America Product Boards and Industry Advisory Boards.
  • Be a conduit for connectivity to Underwriting partners.
  • Help shape and advance the overall strategy and vision on how group can improve connectivity between groups (UW and Claims) and apply learnings to the Underwriting cycle.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance and claims handling
  • 8-10+ years of experience related to leading large and complex operations
  • Must have excellent leadership, decision-making, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a changing environment
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent training required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Technical depth on large loss claims and intricacies.
  • Strong data background to inform strategic planning, trends and action.
  • Deep technical expertise; preferred complex claims handling expertise in repertoire.
  • Expertly articulate connection points with Underwriting, looking for areas of opportunity and improvement.
  • Strong Influence capabilities.
  • Project management experience preferred
