The Lead Cloud Admin primary responsibility is to manage and oversee Empower’s application server environments.  This role diagnoses and resolves complex problems as well as provides accurate assessments and project plans for Business Intelligence applications residing on servers hosted in AWS. The Lead Engineer installs, supports, and automates applications and services for multiple departments within the Empower organization. Additionally, the role will provide technical support and leadership, including maintaining industry best-practice standards for servers and application support while delivering quality customer service. experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructures. Experience in various DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Bitbucket, as well as experienced in infrastructure automation and configuration management.

What you will do:

  • Administration of Business Intelligence Applications hosted in cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Train, coach and mentor technical support team on policies, procedures, and department and company standards.
  • Provide direction to the team for container security policies, standards, and procedures that adhere to industry best practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the corporate IT environment is secure and complies with all internal and external audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Responsible for constructing the project plan and defining the project scope.
  • Communicate the roadmap to the stakeholders and commit to the project release plans, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Application and server performance monitoring using tools like AWS cloud watch, AppDynamics or Splunk.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates and scripts.
  • Your expertise in automation, cloud platforms, and infrastructure as code will be crucial in driving our DevOps efforts.
  • Analyzes risk levels and impact associated with executing installations, upgrades, enhancements, and configuration modifications within application hosting environments and takes appropriate action.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience administrating Business intelligence applications including but not limited to SAP Business Objects, SAP Data services, Tableau, SAS Viya
  • Minimum 3 years managing Cloud environments (Preferably AWS) and minimum 2-year experience with DevOps.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, such as AWS ensure scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using DevOps tools.
  • Provide feedback to management about what is working or not working in plan and assisting in identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Internet based technologies (DNS, Security, IP Routing, SSH, FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL certificates, etc.)
  • Scripting skills for automation of platform administration tasks
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to adjust quickly to meet a goal and/or changing circumstances (changed work schedules, customer needs, strategic directions of the company, etc.)
  • Strong ability to organize and plan work in advance, determining the most effective and/or efficient courses of action.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
  • Knowledge in Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Knowledge on Alteryx, Qlik, SAS Viya

Base Salary Range

$109,600.00 - $158,950.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
