Job Description Summary

The ITR Team R&D Leader is locally accountable for the NPI, R&D (including ToW and Cost-out actions) program execution and responsible for milestones, deliverables and KPI achievement as defined by the ITR Technology leader.

The ITR team R&D Leader leads and coordinates the R&D team based at the factories. This person also supports and challenge the teams for IP and participation in external technical committees such as IEC, Cigre, IEEE, .... And technical and scientific paper publication and presentation at international conferences.

Essential Responsibilities

  • NTI and NPI program execution as defined by the product Manager and technology leader.
  • Milestones, deliverables and KPI achievement and reporting.
  • Locally leads and coordinates the ITR R&D Teams.
  • Challenge the teams for Intellectual Property generation.
  • Supports the teams for participation in external technical committees such as IEC, Cigre, IEEE.

  • On request, act as a trainer /coach / mentor for new engineers
  • Represent the business externally at conferences or in professional working bodies (IEC, CIGRE etc)
  • Provide ad-hoc technical guidance to the Engineering/Technology leadership team as required, e.g., joining customer negotiations, supplier audits
  • Exercise strategic thinking and act as senior technical expert to executive management by providing input into the technology strategy.
  • Supporting ITR quality initiatives.
  • Using experience/knowledge to help ITR Engineering Teams with understanding customer specifications, providing solutions to complex technical problems and requirements as well as with resolving non-conformance issues and successfully leading associated investigations.
  • Disseminating lessons learned across ITR.
  • Participating in cross-functional business and cultural development.
  • Protecting company's Intellectual Property and Image.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrotechnics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ITR R&D environment

  • Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions
