Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Markham Technical Centre or the Oshawa Elevation Centre, three times per week, at minimum.
In this role, you'll play a key role on strategic data enablement initiatives across GM Canada. The key areas of focus will include:
- Decision Support Environment (DSE): Business owner of the DSE and leading the DSE IT team which includes prioritization of requests and conducting business stakeholder meetings. Be a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help internal business stakeholders with their data needs in the realm of customer and dealer data.
- Privacy & Consent: Ensure integrity of the DSE as it relates to legal/privacy compliance. Create business process to manage consumer consent preferences and ensure compliance with Canadian privacy legislation. Work closely with GM legal to ensure alignment between the collection of consent and the business use of consumer personal information.
- Dealer Data Share: Manage the DDS program and act as the subject matter expert (SME) in the Dealer Management Systems (DMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & Dealer Vehicle Inventory Management (DVIM) systems space. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure data access is facilitated via established processes and maintains integrity with contractual obligations with dealers. Ensure that data feeds are healthy and are being processed successfully, and work with GM IT team and/or dealer service providers to address data processing issues or gaps. Develop a thorough understanding of the DDS program specifications and facilitate the onboarding of new Dealer service providers, as required.
- Digital projects: Supporting with multiple projects that require data from the DSE or Dealer Data Share including (but not limited to): Digital Retail Experience, Dealer Digital Command Center (D2C2), Connected Showroom and Inventory Modernization
- First Party Data Initiatives: Establishing partner relationships with advertising partners and tech platforms. Building Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) capability through authentication
- Data Enablement: Work collaboratively with US counterparts when required, to plug into global common systems and ensure Canada is represented in yearly planning cycle from a data architecture perspective.

- Organizational Agility - understanding the functional elements of multiple GMCC departments to implement Data Enablement strategies across the organization an asset
- Strong Project Management Skills and ability to manage process and time of multiple stakeholders independently
- Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically across the organization
- Technical competency - understanding of database management, GMIT processes, and systems and tools to access / enable data
- Marketing and media landscape, tools and best practices
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to develop solutions to business problems
- Able to integrate business knowledge and system analysis expertise
- Able to understand and document the design of large-scale systems integration projects
- Strong data analysis skills
- Provide recommendations for work-flow improvement; operational efficiency
- Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with all GM organizations
- Ability to work across both IT and Business functions
- Be the point of contact for DSE integration initiatives and work with stakeholders in identifying new data sources and establishing feeds to the Canadian DSE
- DMS knowledge & working experience an asset
- CRM knowledge & working experience an asset
EDUCATION:
- Post Secondary education is required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
