POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior HR Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic human resource and business critical operational support to ensure the successful operation of a portfolio of ships with a diverse international crew, across multiple deployments in the Celebrity Cruises fleet. This individual is accountable for all aspects of HR service delivery and program execution, significant problem/incident resolution and talent practice consistency across their portfolio.

The position requires regular (up to 30%) ship visits for oversight, coaching, auditing, and assessment of onboard operations. Due to the complexity of the shipboard operations individual must create strong relationships with stakeholders and possess strong working knowledge of shipboard operations, talent management, workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, international labor law, performance management, organizational development, L&D, compensation, benefits and HR systems.
The Sr. HR Business Partner is expected to participate in a variety of projects and take leadership roles for fleetwide initiatives based on organizational goals, priorities and strategies. As a critical point of escalation, expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and decision making in compliance with all requirements (internal policies and procedures, ILO, MLC, etc.).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports a group of vessels with 10k+ crew members and provide HR support to shoreside operational areas (Marine Operations, Hotel Operations, Newbuild, F&B, Housekeeping, Onboard Revenue, Entertainment, Finance, etc.).
- Partner with organization stakeholders (legal, compliance, global security, etc.)
- On Call or available to respond and support shipboard teams in the event of emergencies and critical incidents involving crew and operations.
- Conducts thorough and impartial HR investigations in partnership with relevant stakeholders, including interviewing parties, collecting evidence, and compiling findings to drive informed decision-making and appropriate actions.
- Analyzes employee relations issues, recommends effective solutions, and works with the business to implement those solutions.
- Works closely with shoreside and shipboard leaders to support, develop and implement organizational strategies that optimize the performance and overall effectiveness of human resources.
- Maintain solid understanding of critical business issues relating to supported vessels and ensure that the HR strategy continues to provide appropriate initiatives and results in desired outcomes.
- Provide strategic thought leadership to business leaders and workforce planning on talent and organizational impacts of business plans and decisions.
- Work with the business to identify efficiencies, org structures, competencies, and processes needed to help the business run more effectively and grow according to projections and budget targets.
- Actively monitor PAR levels and CAM aspects for vessels assigned to understand, monitor and influence business operations and performance.
- Proactively identify trends and risk factors and provide solutions and recommendation to positively impact crew satisfaction, engagement and productivity
- Provides guidance to executives and senior management pertaining to organizational development, specifically career paths, succession planning, and organizational learning.
- Works with team members and officers providing guidance relating to their career path, performance management, succession planning, organizational learning opportunities and other HR related matters.
- Partners with HR knowledge experts in compensation, total rewards, recruitment, and organizational learning to develop and implement best practices and monitors their application throughout the organization.
- Monitors and analyzes Crew Listening tools and Employee Experience aspects to identify opportunities and propose improvements and solutions for the fleet. Focuses on Wellness and engagement aspects.
- Evaluates and interprets existing policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes and implementation throughout the organization based on industry best practices.
- Is a brand culture ambassador. Keeps abreast of the organizational culture and partners with HR knowledge experts to make organization wide changes that reduce turnover, develop our employees, and maintain the company as an employer of choice throughout the world.
- Participates in a variety of projects and initiatives based on organizational goals, priorities and strategies.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures consistent, accurate monitoring, accounting and record keeping of shipboard crew welfare funds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in human resources with a focus on employee relations, shipboard experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business with a specialty in Human Resources Management
- International HR management experience preferred including knowledge of international employment, tax and immigration laws
- HR related certification preferred
