The Opportunity

As a dedicated Business Advisor Mid-Level-Access Management, you will advise team members by providing business planning guidance to include research, development, planning and implementation of procedures and processes to increase business viability and ensure compliance and/or product competitiveness and profitable growth. Develops and implements solutions to influence business decisions for Bank Disputes. Assists with the development of best in practice solutions to sophisticated business challenges. Identifies opportunities to change, improve, or streamline existing business projects and initiatives. Identifies regulatory and/or operational gaps within the experience to mitigate key risks associated with financial, reputational or member harm.

Provide access management assessments through technical consultation and guidance to the business for the interpretation and assessment of permissions, Role Profile Onboarding, and system access risk for projects, technologies, and environments. Aims to identify and manage existing and emerging risks and integrate risk management strategies and educate risk owners across the enterprise on information security requirements and best practices. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled and administers, and implements systems, policies and processes which serve to enhance the mitigation, reporting, and analysis of Access Management risk.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Tampa, FL, with occasional business travel. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Creates and/or contributes to Access Management governance.
  • Publishes, maintains, and/or interprets moderately complex Access Management governance requirements as they may relate to Regulations E & Z (e.g. policies and standards).
  • Training validations performed via One | Source.
  • Executes repeatable methods and measurements to determine risk and recommends improvements to the process.
  • Performs security risk assessments of moderately complex projects, new technologies, business partners, and third parties.
  • Recommends access management options for projects and initiatives.
  • Responds both verbally and in writing to routine inquiries and periodic exams from internal control partners (e.g. legal, compliance, audit, risk).
  • Guides and assists process owners in the identification, development, and testing of access management controls for risk mitigation effectiveness.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Finds opportunities and provides mentorship on procedure and process improvements to influence business optimization.
  • Collaborates with enterprise partners to facilitate the development of business rules, requirements and artifacts for business projects, processes, and initiatives.
  • Defines acceptance criteria, requirements, provides artifacts and acquires approvals for business processes/initiatives and responsible for required documentation of business decisions.
  • Assists in the collection and documentation of business decisions in accordance with enterprise record retention standards.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years of project management, process consulting, or business optimization planning experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of industry technology applications such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Portal, CRM, CBS, Fiserve, KDIM, Fidelity, Metric Stream, or other industry related applications.
  • Proven experience in developing communications and delivering key information optimally to team members and all levels of management to influence decisions centered around business optimization.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements for applicable LOB.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

What sets you apart:

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • Experience with vendor technology to include Visa Resolve Online (VROL), Data Navigator, [AMEX?], Pep +, and Zelle.
  • 4 years of work experience in owning and/or processing access management requests.
  • 2 years of related experience supporting audit and/or risk assessments.
  • Experience with USAA applications to include Enterprise Work List (EWL) and Disputes Command Center (DCC).
  • Knowledge of Regulation E & Z and Network Requirements.
  • Familiarity with navigating and referencing Knowledge Central (KC).
  • Proficient level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $67,220 - $128,480.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
